Flight by plane to Bansko

Bansko – what to see?

The best place to visit in Bulgaria is undoubtedly the Pirin National Park. For those who want adventure and fresh air rather than sitting indoors all day, there’s nothing better than coming here for a hike or a camping trip! However, if you’re looking for a more scenic experience near Sofia, look no further than the ski resort of Bansko – where both winter and summer activities will keep everyone satisfied. Bansko is a paradise for people who love winter, skiing and winter sports in general! So if you are one of those people, you will be satisfied. Did you think it was possible to fly to Bulgaria for skiing? Certainly not necessarily. It is not a popular destination for Poles. However, it is definitely worth breaking through. You won’t regret the time spent there. So what to see there, how to spend your time? We suggest in this article.

How to get there?

The best way to get to this destination is by flying into Sofia. From there, you can easily, still from home, order a  Sofia to Bansko transfer. Such a transfer will get you straight to your accommodation, and Sofia is not far from Bansko, so it won’t be a long route.

What to do in Bansko?

The picturesque town of Bansko is a popular tourist destination located 925 metres above sea level in the Pirin mountains. It developed mainly as a ski resort, but now offers year-round activities for visitors to enjoy with family members or friends – and it’s no wonder this place has been dubbed ‘paradise on earth’. Being there in winter (when 70 kilometres of pistes await), you can’t miss an opportunity: use the 13 lifts, discover the mountain lakes adorned with jewels among the snow caps along with the vertical cliffs covered smooth as silk!

Ski resorts

You’ll be surrounded by nature while skiing in the Bansko resort. The large 621-metre-high gondola, which can carry 600 people per hour during peak hours in the winter and summer months, is an unforgettable experience as it takes visitors from ground level all the way down to the deep, white silence above – where they stay until the breathtaking views reveal themselves to them again!

National Park

The largest natural protected area in Bulgaria is the Rila National Park. On its territory there are more than a hundred peaks exceeding 2,000 metres above sea level and 120 lakes that provide drinking water for the majority of the country’s population; this includes people living as far away from Sofia (the capital) as Plovdiv or Bourgas, who come here because it offers them peace and quiet during their summer holidays. In winter, visitors can enjoy sliding down the snow on the one hand while sipping hot cocoa with friends on the other.

So if you love skiing or snowboarding and are a lover of mountain peaks, be sure to put this place on your map and visit!
